Hurricane David - 1979
 I think the blog could use a break from all the freezing NY/NJ content coming in. Let's take a look at some Florida footage of Paradise beach back in 1979 after Hurricane David. The Video was made by Tim Ebaugh. Taken from grainy Super-8, projected onto a wall, filmed with a camcorder, transferred to VHS and then to digital format. That doesn't add up to high quality but still a great flick.

Locals Only
 Students at the Communications High School in Monmouth County, NJ recently had the opportunity to work on a documentary about surfing culture.
With a grant from Panasonic, Locals Only was shot using the SDX900's 24p frame rate. This created the look of film combined with the ease of video production.
The project is due to be completed in 2005 and hopefully will be aired on a sports network or PBS. Here's the trailer!
