Problem:
You have a Mac and you receive an error saying "Data Encryption Error".
We are aware that Mac users who are using Microsoft Internet Explorer may have some technical difficulties with certain portions of WickedQuiver.com. The problem often occurs when the user tries to add something to their cart, create an account, or access any other part of the site that is encrypted for security.
The most common cause of this problem is using a browser which has not been updated to 128 bit encryption. This problem occurs most commonly on computers which access the internet using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (versions 4.0 through 5.1).
Our website uses 128-bit encryption (also known as 'high security') and is becoming the common security level for most secure sites. However, some browsers still use the lower security 64-bit encryption. Using a lower security browser on a high security site will generate a 'data encryption level'.
Solution:
This problem occurs most often when using Microsoft's Internet Explorer. There is currently no Internet Explorer patch to fix problems with high security sites. In July 2003, Microsoft announced that it would no longer support it's Macintosh version of Internet Explorer due to the release of Apple's new Safari browser. The best solution is to use a browser other than Internet Explorer.
Alternative browsers for download:
Macintosh Safari
Mozilla, Firebird and Camino
Netscape 7.1
Opera
